1944: Simple, no frills, and alcohol-forward. Similar to the original Mai Tai created by Trader Vic in 1944.
Classic Hawaiian: Fruit juices, dark rum float, and often garnished with tropical delights. A style enjoyed by Hawaiʻi visitors since the early 1960’s.
Modern Maui: Foam topped. Popularized by Monkeypod Kitchen in 2011 and expanded to the diversely-flavored, foam tops seen all around Maui today.
Unique Twist: Created a little differently. Clarified, creamy, added tequila, and any other interesting spins. Border on “not Mai Tai” Mai Tais.
Zero Proof: None of the alcohol and all of the Mai Tai fun.
